As a business owner, I've started using chatgpt and it has saved me a lot of time when it comes to tasks for my clothing brand. It can writeme captions, it gives me ideas for content, and overall cuts down time I used to spend on tasks. At first, I felt guilty using it because it seemed like am escape from the work, kind of like being lazy. But it's really innovating within a business.
Don't feel guilty for using a new tool that comes out because others will use it and they will get ahead. If you don't innovate, you don't win. You can't run a business in 2023 using tools from 2015 because times have changed but I do have a question that I have been dealing with.
How much should a business use AI? Because if you use it too much, you won't improve on certain skills but at the same time you can gain other skills but if you don't use it, you're going to get left behind. Other business will become more efficient and cut down on their expenses. What is the balance when it comes to using AI in your business?
Would Love to hear your responses and how you guys have used AI.
Hiya Adel!
Great question... well I just watched a Movie last night on Netflix called Outside the Wire... It was wild and recommend you watch it. Its definantly an example of AI craziness :).
As far as AI for businesses, its just a tool. But tools used in an automatic form generally cause more issues then solve them.
For example, lets say you regularly have to write, or create something. And you use ChatGPT, or something of the likes to make it for you.
YES you may get what you want, but then you did not actually do the work to get it. So in essence, something did it for you, now you RELY on that thing more than ever. Limiting your own ability to perform that task.
If you want or need repetative things that you just do all the ti
me and your an expert, awesome use it. But if you are trying to learn a skill, such as writing, or financial analysis, i dont think you will learn that skill if you are having an AI or program do it for you.
Also a business should only use AI in the capacity to do overflow, or meanial tasks that no one else wants to do, or the cost to do those tasks are too expensive to do because of overhead costs, at least thats how I leverage AI in my companies :).
